Hi
It's that time of the month again. MTMTE #16 is out a week on Wednesday, I think.
Thanks to the three-page preview you'll know that this issue's story is called 'The Gloaming', a Scottish word which describes that time of the day after sunset when it's not yet dark. I've since been told that there's a Radiohead song of the same name, presumably on an album that was released after OK Computer, when uncool kids like me were scared off.
'The Gloaming' was written as both the epilogue to issues #12 to #15 and the prologue to 'Remain In Light', which runs from #17 to #21. It features Agustin Padilla on pencils, and he does a cracking job. Wait until you see his Magnus on Page 4, his Rung on Page 10, his Rodimus on Page 12...
Josh is there as usual, of course, and turns in another stand-up-and-applaud performance.
I could have chosen lots of songs for this issue, because over the years I've acquired a lot of maudlin, introspective songs. I know, who'd have thought it? So... I thought I'd avoid the easy route and pick some more unusual tracks:
First up is Mogwai's 1997 epic, Tracy (And you know what? This is the most MTMTE-appropriate video I've ever linked to. Not just MTMTE, but MTMTE #16 specifically. Uncanny):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3uIwEY27DQNext up, a Yann Tiersen/Neil Hannon collaboration:

Then 'The Sadness of Things' by Momus (the inspiration, name-wise, for the Senator from 'Shadowplay'):

I recommend headphones and a darkened room for all these songs.
Right, back to the issue. Here's some wordage:
"Let's start with the questions. Because I know that everyone has questions. How did this happen? How did Overlord escape a whiteout vacuum and end up on board?"
And:
"You'll see. I'm gonna look inside if it kills me."
There we go. Soundtrack, dialog, you're good to go.
Issue #16 means a lot to me. I'm proud of how it turned out and I sincerely hope you like it. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to tell stories like this one.
听这些歌,再结合16期的名字,感觉之前那边论坛上的主流推测,通天晓暂时生存并恢复行动能力,但火种不可避免的不断萎缩让他注定将很快面对死亡很可能会猜中...
